The 29th International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS) Conference will take place from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July 2026 at the University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom. We are excited to announce that the Call for Submissions is now open!

Health and wellbeing in the context of the physical environment
Sustainability, climate change, biodiversity, and conservation
Natural disasters and environmental risk
Built settings, architecture and design, housing, and urban planning
Transport and mobility, technology, energy, and Net Zero
Restorative environments, nature, and nature connection
Place, place attachment and place identity
Environmental education, communication, policy, and community participation

In line with the IAPS 2026 theme of Sustainability as Wellbeing, we especially welcome submissions that include or focus on:

One Health; planetary wellbeing; impacts on both people and environment
Use of varied and/or innovative research methods
Critical research approaches; environmental justice; equity, diversity, and inclusion
Engagement with diverse actors and knowledge-holders
