EDRA 57(5/27-5/30 マサチューセッツ大学アマースト校、締め切り:11/24)
Theme & Background
Embracing Regional Sustainability: Networks for People and Places: The Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) Conference in Spring 2026 will focus on “Embracing Regional Sustainability: Networks for People and Places.” This theme reflects a timely and critical inquiry into how we support and connect the built environment and human well-being across multiple scales—from local neighborhoods to global systems. The importance of regional thinking has never been clearer, as social, political and environmental challenges become more complex. Sustainability must be rooted in the unique ecologies, cultures, and networks of regions—while remaining connected to broader global frameworks.
This conference is organized by the Department of Architecture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and will be held on the UMass Amherst campus. Part of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, the Department of Architecture offers an interdisciplinary and collaborative program promoting socially engaged, environmentally responsive, and progressive design. As New England’s first public architecture program, UMass Amherst Architecture is committed to expanding access to architectural education and cultivating a more inclusive professional community throughout the North Atlantic region.
